It all started with a few people wanting to make a difference in gaming.

What would later become Guardians MH began as a simple idea between friends, the Saint-14 Project. Our initial goal was to help raise funds for other organizations that helped promote mental health awareness in the gaming community.  

During our first year, we helped raise funds for many organizations. Our efforts in this vast field were to help end the stigma associated with mental health difficulties that impact many people worldwide, not just gamers. While our initial charity streams did help raise funds and awareness, we were passionate about doing much more.

After over a year of charity streams and podcasts and running a small peer-support Discord Server, Guardians Mental Health became an official 501c3 non-profit.

Our goal has always been to provide a first step of support by gathering meaningful resources, providing peer support and helping individuals find a mental health professional near them.

To reach as many gamers as possible, we needed to be where the gamers were, playing games, streaming, or watching streamers. To better help these streamers and other individuals, we created our built-in house RTS (Real-Time Support) Bot. RTS Bot is a Twitch, Discord and Web Bot that provides on-demand, easily searchable access to vetted and curated mental health resources.

Gaming is a digitally consumed medium, but mental health difficulties can have significant IRL implications and impacts. This is where the idea of having digitally available resources for gamers and a FREE physical kit containing many valuable items came from. Our Mental Health Kit program has seen tremendous reception since its inception, reaching over 6,000 gamers in need and travelling over 1 million kilometres.

While we could never have dreamt our small project would lead us to where we are now, we are immensely thankful for all our support over the years. We can't wait to see what the future will bring. We have many things in the works that will continue positively impacting gamers and the gaming community.
